Ultra-Rugged Computing  for Military Vehicles and Public Transportation

Military System
Taking inspiration from the tight integration found in smartphones, I designed these systems to provide unmatched performance in the smallest possible space. These systems are certified  to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160.

My systems are trusted for reliability and serviceability in autonomous railroad, public transportation, and military aircraft applications. They perform consistently where others are underpowered or simply won't fit.

Modular Product Design

Picture
My modular system design accelerates time to market by leveraging existing and standards-based products to create vertically-targeted systems. with a minimum of redesign.

Rugged Embedded Mobile System

Picture
I created a coherent product line by leveraging existing fragmented products. This got us to market quickly, growing the total opportunity.

These products withstand extreme shock and vibration, and are installed shipboard, and in military ground vehicles.

Smart Mobile Fullfillment

I created mobile order fullfillment systems for seamless Pick/Put processes.

Order Fullfillment System

I drove development of features to simplifiy and reduce cost of installation and configuration of automated order fulfillment systems.

Consumer Computer Blade Systems

Years prior to Google's Project Ara, these tiny modular computer modules were featured in PCWorld. They house the entire computing solution, including storage. They are used in relatively low cost auto, notebook and tablet "docks" making upgrades and mobile computing a snap.

Machine Vision Illuminator

Picture
Using flat holographic optics to create sharp, focused, yet highly uniform radiation, I developed a machine vision Illuminator with a 400%, improvement in signal-to-noise ratio over previous products. This enables fast detection of subtle yet costly defects in customer products.

High Angle/High Output Illumination

Picture
I co-developed, and was awarded a patent (US 5,953,130) for this high-intensity IR laser illuminator which increases signal to noise by over 600%.. The illuminator renders tiny but severe defects in high value material detectable even at sub-pixel resolutions. This reduces CAPEX while increasing market size and inspection system profitability.
